Scum of the earth

Image
Women are scum too.  Welcome to the blog loves, as the weekend beckons I hope you dualize the slogan 'men are scum' to 'we're all scum'.   I'm not angry per se but I grew up with men, and while I admit to the fact that they can be mischievous and promiscuous, I can also tell you ladies act the same (I'm a lady so I know). No blame games intended here. Scum is a reprehensible person, a reprehensible person is one deserving of guilt, do you know one who isn't? Only Jesus loves, only Jesus! Disclaimer: men are still scum as statistics will prove that they tend to be the ones with more scumish behavior but for the purpose of this blog post I'm going to outline the areas where women are scum too. Have you seen the movie two can play that game? And its sequel three can play that game? Or think like a man and its sequel? What do you see that these have in common? (This one isn't a rhetorical question, leave your answers in the comment section). I'll...

Mother

Who do you call mother? I have a long list of people who I can call mother save from my birth mom. These people helped groom me into the being that I am, invested time, money and sound advice on me and have time and again proven that they're mothers indeed.  Happy Sunday lovelies, and happy mothering Sunday mothers, expecting mothers and would be mothers, and to those fathers who've played both the role of father and mother God bless you immensely. The dictionary gives different variants of the same definition of a mother as a female who's given birth to a child. While it isn't incorrect I beg to differ. A mother might be a big sister, a friend, a colleague or an elderly lady who has as aforementioned invested whatever they have in you to correct, assist, instill knowledge, create awareness or make your life easier. As such a mother isn't just the woman who bore you, but the woman who was your nanny, the aunt who's home you spent most of your holidays, the teac...

Apologies to self

Image
Did you ever see the series One three hill? The theme song keeps replaying in my head, so for those who didn’t see it  I’m going to write out the parts that I like;    “I don’t want to be anything other than what I’ve been trying to be lately, All I have to do is to look into it and have peace of mind. I’m tired of running around wondering what I gotta do or who I’m supposed to be. I don’t want to be anything other than me”. Now that I’ve brought you up to speed, welcome to the blog loves, its been a minute. Today we’d talk about self appreciation.  You know how easy it is for you to appreciate how much another person is making efforts/progress and what strides they’re taking? Or how easy it is to admire a person and or even cheer them up when they seem glum? Why is it uneasy for you to do that for yourself? Go on, give yourself a sloppy excuse I’m waiting… Are you done? Now apologize for that sloppy excuse you gave yourself. Anyhoo, I’m going to tell you what...

Undone and beaming

Image
Let me tell you about building castles in the sky, you often fall to your misery from up there. Hey guys welcome back to my blog. So I've been busy building my skyscrapers in the sky and not with any solid foundations even (hope is a dangerous thing you know) but even so I know how to be a rugged faither I don't know if you make up words like I do, but faither best describes it. I'm going to teach how to come out undone and yet beaming. So amidst the many things I pray for, I pray for a job that pays me really well, needless to say that my prayer is backed up with a lot of application letters, I've heard, they say, faith without work is dead, therefore, I update my CV as should suit an application and try really hard to give a befitting application letter and mail it. Well, I'm still jobless, lets get that out there, and no its not because my CV hasn't been ranked by resume.worded and the likes as well above 70, nor because I haven't had calls for interview...

My Valentine Story

Image
Expectations are mostly the cause of disappointment. Welcome lovelies, here's my valentine story. Growing up the only thing I knew about valentine's is the fact that it was a makeshift Christmas day since the colors of the day are red and white and presents were given as well. Then as a teenager in high school, it was a day to know the prettiest girl cause she had the most gifts and I usually had none (didn't mean I was the ugliest, not even remotely, I was just the girl every guy told they had a crush on someone else because I was a tomboy - guy's lady). Valentine's to me was mundane and the frivolities of the day made it even more uninteresting until hormones happened.   It was my first valentine as someone's girlfriend, I was expectant, I wanted texts at 12am, a lunch date, a kiss, a reassuring I love you and at least one present that I'd keep forever. It was a perfect plan save for the fact that my boyfriend was in a different country and he'd been t...

Phobia

Image
Hi loves, its Sunday I hope you went to church, if no, doxology lol. Today I'm here to talk about fears, what deep dark worries keep you awake most nights? I'll share a few and give you a tip or two that I've used to have sound sleep this year. Everyone has the normal phobias, fear of heights, pistanthrophobia, athazagoraphobia, arachnophobia and the rest of them, basic phobias I call them, for me, these are superficial and can rarely keep you awake except the spider is on your bed sha. Now that we know that such phobias are basic, lets delve into today's post shall we.   My biggest fear is of failure really, I hate that awkward moment when I'm there fully clad with nothing to offer, God forbid bad thing. But the biggest way to trample over failure is to prepare isn't it? Fully equip yourself and hit the ground rolling, or is that how its said? However there's a word that churns around in the human vocabulary - a word called "hard", sometimes call...

Tell me about yourself

Image
I find the statement ‘tell me about yourself’, quite annoying. I feel like if you want to know about me you’d stick around long enough to find out as much as you need. Notice I said as much as you need, not everything, just as much as you need depending on the level of relationship we have. But, as much as I hate the statement ‘tell me about yourself’, I find that its at the crux of everyday conversations, so unfortunately, I have to answer it. Today I’m going to tell you about myself so that when you visit the page again, you’d have a feel of me, what I’m like and why I write the way I do, or maybe you’d understand my underlying disposition to write instead of speaking.  My name is Onyinye Dennise Dennessa, Nwogu. I’m an ambivert. I think I’m tripolar because each of my names has its own personality, so when you meet Onyinye she’s different from Dennise who’s also different from Dennessa. Lets meet each of them shall we.  Onyinye is the calm and collected one, she’s alw...
